This scripture does not mince words. There are no metaphors
or hidden symbolism to unravel. In verses 13-17 we learn that we ought not
boast about what we will and will not do. We have no idea what tomorrow holds.
Rather, we ought to acknowledge that the Lord knows what tomorrow holds, and we
should say that if He wills it, we will do it. So, in light of this knowledge,
if you continue in your boasting about how much you’ve got it under control
(dishonoring God), you are sinning. So once you know what you ought to do, if you
don’t, that is sin.
Pretty simple.
Have a blessed Sunday!
