Proverbs 18

Today, make sure to read Proverbs 18 (and I hope you read 17 yesterday) :-)

Lessons to be learned from P18:

A foolish person does not see the benefit of acquiring understanding; they believe they already know all there is to know.
The mouth of a foolish person will get them in deep trouble.

Where sin is, shame cannot be far behind.
The well-spring of wisdom in the heart of a believer, continually supplies words of wisdom. – MH

Resist participating in gossip; either to hear or repeat. It gets deep into the soul and is a foundation for jealousy.
Not doing what you should do is just as destructive to the soul as doing what you should not do.

The Lord is a strong tower for us—a safe refuge. The unwise believe that their wealth can serve the same purpose, but they are gravely mistaken.
Walking in pride will eventually bring about our downfall. The humble, however, enjoy honor.

Don’t be quick to interject; allow yourself to gain understanding before speaking.
Seek God’s wisdom for the settling of disputes.

Watch your tongue. We will be filled with whatever we speak of. In so doing, we can either speak life or death.
A good wife is a blessing to a man – evidence of God’s favor.

Christ will never leave us or forsake us. He is a friend who loves at all times.
