Lessons to be learned from P9:
God invites us to seek out His wisdom. Wisdom is likened
unto a woman who opens her home to anyone and everyone who will come. She
invites them to dine with her and learn from her. She brings life.
Those who are set in their foolish ways are resistant to
wise counsel. Don’t spend your time trying to persuade the mocker to listen to
your corrections. They will turn on you.
Those who are determined to walk in wisdom will welcome wise
counsel. Time spent instructing the wise and teaching the righteous is time
well spent.
A healthy reverence for the Lord is the foundation for
growth in wisdom.
Wisdom adds days to our lives and will reward us.
God cautions us to resist foolishness. Foolishness is
likened unto an unruly woman who is simple-minded and ignorant. Just like the
wise woman, the foolish one opens her home to anyone and everyone who will
come. She invites them to dine with her and learn from her. She brings death.
