Lessons to be learned from P4:
Those who give wise instruction are to be regarded as
fathers. They can be respected and honored as our elders.
Wisdom is the foundational need in our lives. Wisdom brings
long life and honor, clear direction and stability!
Wisdom is to be embraced and cherished.
We ought to cherish wise instruction; not resist.
Have nothing to do with evildoers or their life style. Their
methods are evil and bring about restlessness and strife. They are filled with
and fuelled by wickedness and violence.
The path of the righteous is bright like the morning sun and
grows ever brighter. The wicked, on the other hand, walk a dark path—so dark
that even they stumble!
We are to guard our hearts – to be careful about what we do
and what we allow to be done to us. We are to avoid the practice and presence of
evil because the contents of our hearts are an indication of who we are. We
guard our hearts in order to ensure good is welcomed in as a resident.
Watch your mouth – don’t be given to perverse or corrupt
talk.
Be careful about what you allow yourself to look at – don’t
be distracted by peripheral things.
Consider where you are going – the path which the Lord has
set before you – and do not deviate from it.
